Bus Services To The Western General

The current building work at the Western General Hospital has meant that Porterfield Road may well be opened up for
buses again.

This opportunity has arisen from the demolition of the Paderewski building (the former children’s home) in preparation for the new Royal Victoria building, which is due for completion in 2012.

Various changes are being made to the positioning of the bus stops in Crewe Road South, in order to improve access. I have asked Lothian Buses to re-instate at least one service that goes into the hospital grounds, in order to help those with mobility
problems, who need to use public transport to get to the hospital.
